Telstra to chop almost 500 jobs in bid to streamline

Telstra is slicing almost 500 roles because the telecommunications firm works to streamline operations underneath new CEO Vicki Brady.

The modifications will contain a web discount of round 472 jobs, a spokesman informed AAP on Thursday.

“Choices like this are all the time tough. We all know and really feel the private influence on our individuals and their households,” the spokesman stated in a press release.

The job cuts deal with impacts from exiting legacy services in addition to gaining efficiencies from digitisation, automation and new expertise.

“They’re essential for us to stay aggressive and obtain our buyer ambitions,” the spokesman stated.

There shall be no reductions to Telstra shopper groups that serve prospects in retailer, over the telephone or at house.
