Disney+ subscribers looking for a dose of spooky releases this Halloween weekend have come to the right place, as the streaming service has a diverse roster of offerings for those who prefer bloody movies or tamer options. On last weekend’s Disney+ movie recommendations, I talked about projects like the rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You, Disney’s live-action Moana, and Jack Quaid’s sci-fi Companion.
The only movie on that list to be trending on Disney+ nationwide right now is the latest Disney live-action remake. At the time of writing, 2026’s Moana stands as the most popular movie on Disney+’s Top 10 Movies chart in the United States. I looked at this list to pick two timely movies that Disney+ subscribers should be watching on the streaming service as we enter Halloween weekend.
One of those is a dark fantasy movie featuring Dakota Fanning, and it is timely not just because it is trending, but also due to its similarities to a horror movie that is currently playing in theaters this spooky season. The other trending option on Disney+ is a fantasy sequel that just entered the charts and is directly tied to Halloween.
Joining them as great options of movies to watch on Disney+ this weekend is an R-rated sci-fi thriller that connects to one of last weekend’s Disney+ recommendations in a key way. These are the best movies to watch on Halloween weekend on Disney+:
3
Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
Starting us off is the only sequel on the list, Hocus Pocus 2. The fantasy movie brings back Bette Midler as Winnie Sanderson, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson, and Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson, three sister witches who return to life once again on Halloween night, desperate to get revenge after they were destroyed by a group of kids in 1993’s Hocus Pocus.
Hocus Pocus 2 is not that scary a movie, featuring fantasy and comedy elements that make it an easy and fun watch for the whole family. Additionally, the film is directly tied to Halloween, taking place during the holiday. Finally, Hocus Pocus 2 has just become a Disney+ streaming sensation again, currently standing as the streamer’s 9th most-watched movie in the United States.
2
Coraline (2009)
Coraline is the other entry in our Disney+ movie recommendations that is currently trending on the streamer nationwide. The Dakota Fanning animated dark fantasy movie is Disney+’s 5th most popular in the US right now. Coraline is a movie that follows the title character as she has to fight to escape an alternate universe, where characters who look like her parents, Other Mother and Other Father, come with a dark secret.
Coraline promises to make both kids and adults shiver on Disney+ this Halloween. Additionally, the movie has become a timely watch due to a recent theatrical release, Jessica Chastain’s Other Mommy, which features another evil entity taking the form of a young girl’s mother and leading to an increasingly darker horror movie as the story progresses. Coraline is the perfect follow-up or Other Mommy alternative on Disney+.
1
Soulm8te (2026)
Finally, Soulm8te dropped on Hulu on Disney+ on October 1, and the R-rated sci-fi thriller comes from a hit franchise. After all, Soulm8te is a spin-off set in the same universe as the M3GAN franchise. It also connects to a movie from our last Disney+ weekend recommendations, Jack Quaid’s Companion.
Both films center on a man in a relationship with a companion android, only for the plot to take a bloody turn. In Soulm8te, David Rysdahl’s David is a widower who is beta testing a new AI program, eventually transferring the chatbot, Sara, to an android body. When Sara gets jealous of David, all hell breaks loose. Soulm8te is the perfect movie to watch on Halloween on Disney+ this weekend if you are looking for a sci-fi thriller with an edge to it.
PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
